Accessibility Statement

MissionAssist is built by people who believe a nonprofit’s website should work for everyone it serves. Accessibility is part of the work we do for clients, and part of how we hold ourselves to account — so we try to practice it on our own site, too.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA across missionassist.digital and our tools. Accessibility is ongoing, not a one-time checkbox, and we treat it as something we keep improving.

What we do

  • Build with semantic HTML and clear heading structure so screen readers can navigate the page.
  • Support keyboard navigation and provide visible focus styles for interactive elements.
  • Aim for readable color contrast and legible text sizes.
  • Label form fields and buttons so assistive technology can announce them.
  • Respect the “reduce motion” setting for people who are sensitive to animation.
  • Provide meaningful alternative text for images that carry information.

A note on our Website Grader

Our free Website Grader includes an automated accessibility scan. It’s a helpful starting point that flags common issues — but an automated scan is not a full WCAG audit and can’t replace expert and manual testing. We say the same about our own site: automated tools help, but real accessibility takes ongoing human attention.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Parts of the site rely on third-party platforms and embedded tools (for example, our content platform and bot-protection provider) whose accessibility we don’t fully control. Where we find gaps, we work to fix them.

Tell us how we’re doing

If you run into a barrier on our site, or you need information in a different format, please tell us — it genuinely helps, and we want to fix it. Email hello@missionassist.digital with:

  • the page or tool where you hit the problem,
  • what happened and what you expected, and
  • the browser or assistive technology you were using, if you know it.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five business days and to work with you on a solution.
