Free One-Page Board Update Template
The one-page board update from the guide How to Show Your Board and Funders Your Digital Impact, blank and ready to fill. It reports your digital work as a story a board can follow — the mission result first, honest numbers, one next step.
[Your organization] — Digital Impact update · [quarter / period] Goal: [the one mission goal for this period] What we did: [the digital thing you changed or launched] The number: [the activity number — before → after, with the base numbers] What it meant: [the mission result, in people; be honest, and name what else helped] What's next: [the one adjustment you're already making] — Keep it to one page. Lead with the mission result, not the metric. — Say which you have: an output (an activity you counted) or an outcome (what changed for a person). Don't quietly upgrade one to the other. — Compare like-for-like; two data points isn't a trend. — If AI or automation saved time, put the hours saved right next to the service they bought — never on a separate efficiency line. — Say what didn't work, too. It's what makes the good numbers believable.
Pick your numbers at the start of the period and report them whether they rise or fall. Report aggregate totals, never lists of names — “42 families enrolled” belongs in a board report; the 42 records stay in your secure system.
